Green Smoothie with Spirulina

This smoothie is a great way to quench your thirst on a hot summer day! It contains Spirulina which is an excellent source of vegetable protein, beta-carotene, vitamin B-12,  iron, potassium , magnesium and  calcium.;  people taking this  feel more energized and has a greater sense of  being  healthy because it detoxifies the body, boosts immunity, helps lower cholesterol and also prevents heart disease.

Yield:

  • 4 Servings
  • 1 tablespoon Spirulina powder
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup romaine lettuce, torn
  • 1 cup chard, torn
  • cup cucumber, peeled, seeded and diced
  • 2 cups pineapple, cut into chunks
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • sugar substitute, to taste (optional)
  1. Mix Spirulina and water in a small bowl until completely dissolved.
  2. Place remaining ingredients in a blender; add Spirulina. Process until smooth.
  3. Pour in glasses.
  4. Serve and enjoy.
